Penney on the up after Latics win

Top scorer Pawel Abbott broke the deadlock 12 minutes from time, giving the Latics a deserved 1-0 win for their dominance in Saturday's League One encounter at Boundary Park.[LNB]Penney has been under fire from Oldham fans and was jeered for taking off midfielder Dean Furman with the score at 0-0 but he said: "I don't give a monkey's. Our performances have been okay for most of the season and now the results are starting to come as well.[LNB]"Winning breeds confidence and you could see from the performance that we aren't lacking that. It was a hard slog but we were the better side.[LNB]"The result was the be-all and end-all but we played well once we got going.[LNB]"We have three very tough games coming up against Colchester, Leeds and Norwich so it was important to get a positive result."[LNB][LNB]
