Penney happy with solid defending

The Seagulls were condemned to a fifth defeat in their last seven home games by second-half goals from Pawel Abbott and Reuben Hazell. Penney is delighted his men are proving hard to beat, and was especially pleased with their fifth clean sheet in seven games. He said: "Getting back to having a clean sheet was crucial - it's the difference between winning and losing games. This was a great team performance. "We went into the match with a 4-4-2 formation, determined to cut out mistakes in order to stay in the game and it worked out well. "We didn't work their keeper in the first half but we succeeded in doing so after the break. We haven't scored enough from set plays so Hazell's goal was very welcome. He was my man of the match."
