Penney drops out as Darlo boss
The 44-year-old guided the Quakers to the play-off semi-finals last season and has coped admirably with a 10-point deduction in the current campaign.
Penney still had two years left on his Darlington contract but Oldham will not have to pay any compensation if they do take him on due to the Quakers currently being in administration.
