Latics waiting on duo

Oldham return to Sky Bet League One action at home to Walsall with doubts over the availability of Kirk Millar and Jonson Clarke-Harris.

Striker Millar was involved in a collision with team-mate Jose Baxter in the Capital One Cup defeat against Derby in midweek and is suffering from what the club termed a 'whiplash-type injury'.

Fellow forward Clarke-Harris had to come off in the clash with the Rams due to an ankle injury and he is ratedas 50-50.

Should either player miss the contest, the door could be opened for summer signing Charlie MacDonald, who was an unused substitute on Tuesday.

Andy Taylor will miss Walsall's trip with his troublesome ankle injury.

The defender was set to return to contention for Tuesday's Capital One Cup triumph Port Vale having missed last Saturday's impressive season-opening victory over Tranmere.

However, Taylor returned to training too soon and duly sat out, with his recovery pushed back a week, meaning he will again miss out at Boundary Park.

Otherwise, manager Dean Smith has a fully-fit squad to select from.
