Oldham boss Stephen Robinson to make late checks on injury doubts

Under-pressure Stephen Robinson will check on those Oldham players who have been recent injury concerns before deciding if they can stay in the team to face Port Vale.

Ryan McLaughlin played 90 minutes against Fleetwood despite a recent knock and Paul Green lasted 65 minutes having only just come back from a calf complaint.

Lee Erwin (groin) and Marc Klok (calf) will both be absent again having not trained prior to Saturday's defeat.

Midfielder Ousmane Fane was an unused substitute in that clash having returned from suspension and is an option for Robinson.

Port Vale could be missing their top scorer Alex Jones.

The 10-goal forward had been named in the starting line-up for Friday's win over Chesterfield but had to withdraw just prior to kick-off due to a sickness bug.

In his first match in charge, caretaker boss Michael Brown instead selected Rigino Cicilia and could stick with him again.

Brown recalled Ben Purkiss at full-back and made him his captain in one of his first acts in charge.
