Wilson worry for Oldham

Oldham are waiting to see the extent of defender Brian Wilson's groin problem ahead of Port Vale's visit.

The summer signing missed Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Leyton Orient but Latics are hopeful he can return to bolster a defence which has started the season in porous fashion.

After conceding eight goals in a trio of winless games in all competitions, boss Lee Johnson could be tempted to shake things up with defender Genseric Kusunga and midfielder James Dayton in line for recalls.

Forward Amari Morgan-Smith is nearing a return from a knee injury but striker Rhys Turner is still a couple of weeks away with a hip complaint.

Port Vale should have an unchanged squad for the trip to Oldham.

Manager Micky Adams must decide whether he needs to make changes following Saturday's superb 3-1 win against Doncaster.

Adams made just one change at the Keepmoat Stadium with Richard Duffy coming into the team at the expense of Chris Robertson.

Should he wish to freshen things up on Tuesday night, Adams has the likes of Robertson, Louis Dodds, Colin Daniel, Michael Brown, Steven Jennings and Ryan Lloyd to call on.
