Tarkowski back for Latics
James Tarkowski could be back in Oldham's squad against Bristol City, despite leaving the club at the end of the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old central defender departed for Sky Bet League One rivals Brentford but surprisingly agreed terms on a 28-day loan to rejoin Latics when the window reopens on Friday.
Oldham signed non-league striker Rhys Turner from Stockport last month but boss Lee Johnson is not ready to risk him yet because the player recently suffered a hamstring tear.
Johnson also revealed unnamed members of his squad are carrying minor knocks while midfielder David Worrall could drop out again after only recently returning from a long-term groin problem.
Bristol City will be without Scott Wagstaff.
The midfielder, who has been one of the regulars for the Robins this season, popped a joint in his shoulder in Tuesday's 2-1 home defeat to Coventry and manager Steve Cotterill believes he could be sidelined for six weeks.
Meanwhile, defender Karleigh Osborne is rated as fifty-fifty to make the trip to face former City favourite Johnson's Latics as he has been suffering with a hamstring problem, leaving Cotterill light of options on the right-hand side of his team.
City have climbed out of the relegation zone but are yet to win an away game since Cotterill took charge.
