Johnson's watching Korey

Oldham boss Lee Johnson expects to have the same squad when high-flying Brentford visit Boundary Park.

Captain Korey Smith, who scored a scintillating equaliser for Latics at Leyton Orient in midweek, is being assessed on a daily basis with a troublesome knee problem.

Johnson intends to keep training light in a bid to keep his squad fit as he is still without defender Genseric Kusunga (thigh), midfielder Anton Rodgers (knee) and loanee Joel Byrom (hamstring).

Young striker Rhys Murphy has also tweaked his hamstring and teenage defender Glenn Belezika's contract has been terminated by mutual consent.

Midfield duo George Saville and Toumani Diagouraga are in contention for Brentford.

Saville missed Tuesday night's 3-0 defeat at Rotherham after picking up a knock over the weekend but should be fit while Diagouraga has been recalled from his loan spell at Portsmouth.

Fellow midfielder Adam Forshaw was substituted in midweek to protect his ongoing ankle problem but he should be okay, as will defender Harlee Dean who is playing on despite a groin problem.

Winger Sam Saunders is therefore the only absentee as he recovers from knee surgery.
