Oldham frustrated by draw

High-flying Oldham were left frustrated as they were shut out by a well-drilled Yeovil side as the two drew 0-0. Goalkeeper John Sullivan made a handful of excellent saves for the visitors, who almost snatched victory themselves in the last five minutes. Oldham went desperately close early on when Chris Taylor's 25-yard blast drew a flying stop from Sullivan. Dean Bowditch headed off target for Yeovil before testing Oldham keeper Dean Brill with a low shot. Andy Williams saw an effort deflected wide for the visitors but Sullivan made another stunning save to deny Taylor for the second time. Brill thwarted Bowditch and Sullivan beat away a point-blank header from Ritchie Jones as both keepers continued to impress. There was controversy early in the second half with Yeovil convinced they should have had a penalty for Paul Black's challenge on Williams. They were again frustrated by Brill in the 85th minute as Paul Huntington's header from a set-piece was superbly tipped over the bar. And Brill dived full length in stoppage time to claw out a ferocious drive from Williams.
