Latics extend unbeaten run

Jonathan Forte scored his 11th goal of the season as in-form Oldham earned a 2-1 victory over Bradford, who ended the match with 10 men.

The Latics came under pressure in a high-tempo Roses battle, but Lee Johnson's side are now unbeaten in 13 games.

They made the breakthrough after just seven minutes as Jabo Ibehre headed down a Joseph Mills cross and Forte turned eight yards out before firing a shot high into the net.

The lead was doubled after 24 minutes when a flowing move ended with midfielder Mike Jones taking possession 20 yards from goal and drilling a low shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Bradford goalkeeper Jordan Pickford saved from both Forte and Liam Kelly before the visitors grabbed a lifeline in first-half stoppage time, with James Hanson setting up Andy Halliday for a well-taken volley from 14 yards out.

Forte and Danny Philliskirk wasted more Oldham chances, but Bradford's threat was growing and they had two penalty appeals waved away.

Forte was denied again by Pickford and at the other end Paul Rachubka kept out Alan Sheehan's driven shot.

Bradford's Rory McArdle was sent off in injury time after collecting his second yellow card of the match.
