Mooney clinches vital win for O's
Leyton Orient earned a crucial victory in their battle against the drop as they beat Oldham 1-0 at Boundary Park.
David Mooney's second-half strike proved the matchwinner despite the visitors ending with 10 men after Ryan Dickson's late red card.
Orient created an early chance as Matt Spring saw his header beaten out by Oldham goalkeeper Alex Cisak, who later went off with an injury suffered when colliding with a post.
The O's were the better side but they almost fell behind after 34 minutes as Paul Rachubka had to make a low save from home striker Reuben Reid.
The visitors missed a sitter when Kevin Lisbie fired wide of an open goal from 20 yards after being left in the clear by a mistake from Oldham's substitute `keeper Dean Bouzanis.
But they broke through after 70 minutes when George Porter's run and right-wing cross teed up Mooney to slot home from eight yards.
Dickson was sent off after 86 minutes for his second bookable offence in quick succession and Rachubka sealed the points with a solid save from Jean Yves M'voto deep inside stoppage time.
