straight into team at Exeter The Latics have finally signed a striker. Daniel Nardiello has made the move on loan from Championship side Blackpool and will remain until the end of the season. Oldham have scored just one goal in their last four games and have dropped into the relegation zone in the process. Nardiello is 27 and has scored 41 goals in 98 starts and he has also been capped three times by Wales. He began his career at Manchester United but only made one full appearance before joining Swansea City on loan where he made four starts and scored one goal. He then joined QPR on loan and made similar appearances and goals. Barnsley was his next move which turned out to be permanent where he scored 32 times in 72. Nardiello then went to Blackpool and made three appearances for the Seasiders before moving to Hartlepool United on loan where he played eight games and popped three into the back of the net. Nardiello said of his latest move, "I have had limited opportunities which has partly due to having a groin/hip operation which kept me out for three months at the start of the season. I had a one-month loan at Bury and since returning to Blackpool in December have only had a handful of games. I asked the manager (Ian Holloway) about going out on loan and I am happy to be here. It is good to be given the opportunity to play some first-team football and hopefully to score some goals which will help get Oldham out of the relegation zone." "I loved my time at United where the facilities were magnificent and it is the perfect place to learn your football. Obviously it is tough to break through into the first team, but if you don't hopefully there are other clubs willing to give you a chance." Nardiello will go straight into Athletics team who take on Exeter City away on Saturday.
