former Torex boss charged with conspiracy to defraud and false accounting The Latics' former owner, Chris Moore, has been charged with offences in connection with the collapse of Torex Retail. Torex, a software firm, were the sponsors of the Latics when he was at Boundary Park but they went into administration in 2007 following a Serious Fraud Office investigation. Moore, not a popular figure at Boundary Park after selling off their best players for peanuts, has been charged with conspiracy to defraud and false accounting. He came to Boundary Park in 2001 and promised that Oldham Athletic would be in the Premiership within five years. After losing the play-off games in 2003, he spat his dummy out and stepped down as chairman and also sold his stake in the club. Moore was on the Sunday Times Rich List in 2001 for the first time when he held a £39 million stake in Torex.
