Milton Keynes Dons 0-0 Oldham: Report

22 February 2011 22:34
Dons and Latics in stalemate MK Dons were left to rue a host of missed chances as promotion rivals Oldham hung on for a goalless draw. The Dons carved the Latics apart at will in the first half but Rowan Vine was denied by keeper Ben Amos when through one-on-one and Peter Leven hit the post as their winless run at stadium:mk stretched to four matches. Vine had a shot brilliantly saved by Amos early on before Luke Chadwick blazed the rebound over, while Leven curled an exquisite 25-yard free-kick against the outside of the post. Sean O'Hanlon then saw his powerful header cleared off the line by Filipe Morais. Dean Furman almost snatched an unlikely lead for Oldham on the stroke of half-time when his fizzing long-range drive was pushed away at full-stretch by David Martin. Sam Mantom came close to winning it late on for Oldham, drilling a low shot just past the post from the edge of the box.
