Maher hails 'fantastic' Latics fans
The Latics had goalkeeper Greg Fleming sent off with striker Dean Windass taking over in goal, but kept the runaway leaders at bay and Maher was quick to praise Latics supporters for the part they played.[LNB]Maher, a summer signing from Southend, said: "The away fans were fantastic on Saturday, as they have been since I joined the club.[LNB]"The numbers they travel in and the noise they make is brilliant and we saw that against Leicester on Saturday.[LNB]"It was good to give them something to cheer about because the previous two away games weren't great.[LNB]"It's tough economically for supporters and all the players appreciate the backing the fans are giving us."[LNB][LNB]
