Kuqi sinks Orient

Second-half goals from Shefki Kuqi, Reuben Reid and Matt Smith saw Oldham overturn a half-time deficit to record a 3-1 win at Leyton Orient.

The home side had gone in front after 18 minutes when 19 year-old George Porter, making his full debut, slid the ball home from 15 yards - it was the first time this season that the Os had taken the lead in a league match.

But Oldham, with the classy Kuqi proving influential, dictated matters after the interval.

They equalised four minutes into the second half when Robbie Simpson flicked on a long kick from keeper Alex Cisak for Kuqi to steer into the net with the home defence static.

The Latics went ahead after 65 minutes when Kuqi crossed from the left to allow the unmarked Reid to head home from close range, and with two minutes remaining an audacious backheel from Kuqi allowed substitute Smith, who had been on the pitch for less than two minutes, to wrap up the points.

The defeat left rock-bottom Orient still seeking their first league win of the season.
