The Latics host the Essex outfit on Saturday as they aim to return to winning ways after a dismal run of three successive defeats.[LNB]Smalley, 21, is wary of the threat posed by Aidy Boothroyd's men and feels they could last the distance in the race for the Championship.[LNB]Smalley said: "I think when you go through all the contenders then obviously you've got to look at the likes of Leeds, Charlton, MK Dons and Huddersfield.[LNB]"But I think Colchester are a very good side and can see them being right up there at the end of the season.[LNB]"They've got some excellent players and a manager with a proven track record, so we know it's going to be a tough game on Saturday."[LNB][LNB]
