Latics players not up for sale
Latics wingers Deane Smalley and Chris Taylor are reported to be targets for Blackpool and Leeds respectively, but Penney wants the pair to stay.
Both players enjoyed successful campaigns last term and Penney is more concerned with adding to his squad than losing key players.
"There's been all sorts of speculation recently, but if something has happened then I certainly don't know about it," he told the club's official website.
"We are not looking to sell any players now and that's it as far as I'm concerned."
