Latics midfielder rejects new deal

The 31-year-old was one of the players new boss Dave Penney chose not to release after he took over at the club and was offered a new deal by the former Darlington chief. However, the former Chesterfield man, who started his career at Oldham and is a product of the club's youth academy, has decided his future lies elsewhere. "We offered Mark a good package but he informed us this morning that he would not be taking up the contract," Penney told his club's official website. "Mark is an excellent professional who has served the club with distinction and we wish him all the best for the future."
