Latics hit by Burnley late show

Burnley struck with late goals to seal a 2-1 pre-season victory at neighbours Oldham. Latics trialist Peter Jones's fifth-minute strike looked to have secured victory for the hosts but Burnley mounted a late rally. Steve Thompson equalised in the 82nd minute and Leon Cort grabbed the winner three minutes later. Oldham made 11 changes at half-time as manager Paul Dickov again took a look at his full squad which included five trialists, while Burnley boss Brian Laws also made wholesale changes at the break.
