Latics determined to beat chill

Oldham chief executive Alan Hardy has vowed the club will do everything in their power to ensure Saturday`s match against Swindon beats the big freeze. The club`s groundstaff are working hard to clear snow and ice from the stands and also the entrances and other walkways at Boundary Park. They will do so for the remainder of the week, although the pitch is covered in four inches of snow and the ground beneath is frozen. However, with a thaw due to begin on Thursday, Hardy said: "We are doing everything we can to stage the game, and it will not be for the want of trying."
