Stage one will see 94 houses built behind the Chadderton Road End with profits from the sale of the properties assisting the funding of a new stadium for the Latics. Club director Ian Hill said: "I believe that the proposal to be submitted to Oldham Council will help us realise our ambition in providing a stadium that the supporters and the town can be proud of." Simon Corney, director of developers Ryder & Dutton, said: "Over the last seven months we have been discussing with the club to redevelop the land for housing. "The club wants to become self sufficient in years to come and this will help them."
