Latics boss releases Oldham trio

Midfielders Kalala and Maher have been told they will not be offered new contracts, while striker Hughes, who spent the latter part of the season on loan at Blackpool, is also leaving Boundary Park. On-loan duo Daniel Jones and Ian Westlake have returned to parent clubs Wolves and Cheltenham respectively, while veteran trio Mark Crossley, Andy Liddell and Sean Gregan have already departed. Penney, who had his first day in charge of the club on Tuesday, is also set to have talks with Mark Allott and Stefan Stam over their futures, while striker Matty Wolfenden is considering the offer of a short-term deal.
