Posh striker Craig Mackail-Smith scored twice to hand his side their seventh consecutive victory. Royle was left bemoaning his luck and criticised Salisbury, who ruled out an Oldham goal with the scores at 1-1 after Chris Taylor had cancelled out Mackail-Smith's opener. Royle said: "I don't like talking about referees but nobody can even tell me why he did what he did. "Apparently Lewis Alessandra fouled their lad before he put the ball in the net but I saw nothing and none of the Peterborough players appealed. "It's a shame because we were excellent overall and people are saying it was our best home performance for quite a while. We passed the ball well and created chances but then a little tragedy cost us any reward when our full-back and goalkeeper got themselves in a tangle under no real pressure."
