Athletic have signed Aussie keeper Dean Bouzanis on non-contract forms. Paul Dickov rushed through the paperwork so that the 20-year-old stopper could be available for the match at Bournemouth. An injury to goalkeeping coach Paul Gerrard, who has recently been called into action, swayed the decision. Bouzanis spent four-and-a-half years at Liverpool and has been on trial at Boundary Park and has recently made two appearances in reserve-team matches.Manager Paul Dickov commented, “Dean is a talented boy and he has signed non-contract forms. Paul Gerrard has come in and done ever so well, but he is struggling as he has pulled a muscle in his arm and Dean gives us cover.”
