Jones says it straight to Latics
The Latics travel to the stadium:mk in sixth place on the back of a disappointing 1-0 home defeat to Colchester last weekend with the decisive goal coming from a defensive slip-up.
Jones said: "We have got the players to go there and get three points but we can't afford to allow any mistakes into our game. We have got to stay tight at the back."
Jones, on loan from Wolves, admits Roberto Di Matteo's side play attractive football and sees them as definite promotion contenders.
"I think they play some good football, the manager has instilled that into them. He was a world-class player and he has tried to transfer that on to the players he has got," added Jones.
