Dickov - "I am over the moon and proud of them"

The Latics beat their home jinx and turned a display on for the TV cameras when they beat Franchise FC 2-1 on Monday. It was a long overdue home victory and manager Paul Dickov was delighted with the result. He said, “I am pleased we have won here because our home form is really important. People have kept reminding me we have picked up only five points here this season and won one in 15, something I want to put right.”“David Mellor was fantastic. He is a young boy and he was up against Luke Chadwick, who is one of the best players in the division, Angelo Balanta and Daniel Powell who are all top players at this level. He coped with it really well. All the players gave me everything they have got. There was probably four, five or six players, may be even seven, eight, nine or ten who could have been man of the match. I am over the moon and proud of them. We cannot rest on our laurels because we have beaten a good team. We have to take confidence from tonight. We have set standards and we need to kick on.”
