Jarrett ready for action

New signing Jason Jarrett is raring to go after taking a year away from football, with Oldham ready to reap the rewards. The well-travelled 30-year-old midfielder admits he lost his enthusiasm for the beautiful game and, barring a two-month stint with Port Vale, spent last season far away from training grounds and stadiums. But he admits he has returned with a fresh state of mind and, after Latics boss Paul Dickov handed him a six-month deal following his impressive trial, Jarrett is ready to get back to business. He told Oldham`s official website: "I decided to take a break because I had fallen out of love with the game. "I was not enjoying my football and my head was not right. "It was a big risk, but I feel better for taking a year out and I have my hunger back."
