Hazell determined to improve

The League One strugglers' 2-0 victory over Carlisle last weekend was their first home win of the season and Hazell, one of the club's longest serving players, admits he takes heart from seeing that even the world's best defenders make costly errors. "I'm still not happy. I'm not up to scratch with how I want to play," the 30-year-old told Oldham's official website. "I think I have a lot more to offer and I want to show the new manager that I can be better. "You see, watching someone like Rio [Ferdinand] make a mistake in the derby, that anyone can do it - but it's not about the mistakes - it's about how you recover from them and become better because of them."
