Hardy hails groundstaff

Oldham chief executive Alan Hardy has praised the club's groundstaff despite Saturday's npower League One game against Swindon being postponed. The Boundary Park playing surface, which was hit by more wintry weather last week, failed a pitch inspection which took place on Friday lunchtime. Yet Hardy said: "If the game had been played on Sunday I think it would have gone ahead. "Head groundsman Lee Williams and his staff hopefully won't be disheartened by losing this game as I know how committed they are to ensure they do not lose games to these sort of conditions. "Unfortunately, the frost was so deep in the ground the match official had no option but to call the match off."
