Gray leaves
one year still on contract Caretaker manager Martin Gray has now left Athletic after learning that he was unsuccessful in his bid to become the new manager of the club. Gray still has a year to run on his contract but Alan Hardy was quick to praise the former assistant to deposed manager Dave Penney. Hardy said, "Martin has worked tirelessly throughout his short time with us, and I know he was extremely keen to take on the manager's role. Unfortunately he has not been successful, but I would like to pay tribute to Martin and thank him for all his efforts. It has been a pleasure to work with him over the last 12 months and, on behalf of everyone at the club, would like to wish him all the best for the future."
