The 21-year-old midfielder made just one first-team appearance as a substitute in three years at Ibrox. Furman had been offered an extended stay with the SPL champions after impressing during a 33-match loan spell with Bradford last season. He told his club's official website: "I was offered a new contract by Rangers but I didn't think I was going to get as much football as I'd have liked. "The chance to join Oldham came up and straight away I got a good feel for the club. I had my first day training with them today and it was great. "I feel it's time for me to move on because I enjoyed getting first-team football at Bradford last season and I was to keep progressing. "I am confident I will be able to do that now. I've got no guarantees I'll be playing every week and it's up to me to prove I'm good enough for this team. "That's a challenge I'm looking forward to and hopefully over the next couple of years I can give my all and establish myself more."
