Feeney leaves Boundary Park
Reid - "he's fit and ready to play on Saturday before going away with Northern Ireland next week" Warren Feeney has left Boundary Park. The injury prone Northern Ireland international player, who has struggled to establish himself at the club, has had his contract terminated and is now free to sign for another football club.The Plymouth Argyle website reported:Peter Reid said, “Warren's an experienced player with plenty of energy. I'm delighted to have him on board - he's fit and ready to play on Saturday before going away with Northern Ireland next week. He's a good one for us because he brings something to the dressing room as well as ability on the pitch. " The 30 year-old, who joins us as a free agent following his release at Oldham, believes that the Green Army make the football club what it is.Warren said, "It's a good challenge for me and a good challenge for the club. It's a great club to be at - you've just got look at the fan base. I'm fit and ready and looking forward to the season starting."Having started his career as a youngster with Leeds United, Feeney earned an initial loan move to AFC Bournemouth in 2001. However, after just ten games, the Cherries made the signing permanent and Warren would go on to score 32 goals in 98 appearances for the Dorset-based club. In 2004, Feeney moved back north to Stockport County and in just one season, scored 15 goals from 31 outings, nearly a 2:1 goal ratio. Luton were next to acquire the Belfast man's signature and after 77 appearances there, he moved to Cardiff in 2007. Loans at Swansea, Dundee United and Sheffield Wednesday followed before joining Oldham at the beginning of last year. An experienced player at international level, Feeney has appeared 41 times for his country, scoring six goals. Warren will wear the number 11 shirt.
