Dramatic end leaves Penney deflated

Despite being two goals down in Saturday's League One clash at Victoria Park courtesy of strikes from Ritchie Jones and Andy Monkhouse, Penney's side were lifted by the arrival of substitutes Pawel Abbott and Chris Taylor.[LNB]Abbott subsequently reduced the gap with a controlled finish two minutes before time and Penney then saw his side go agonisingly close to a leveller only for 10-man Pool to hold on for a 2-1 triumph.[LNB]"We are missing our big players - Pav, Taylor," reflected Penney. "We had no cutting edge for the hour. It was a gamble to give them 25 minutes but the game opened up. We had four or five good chances after that and Nicky Blackman added something as well.[LNB]"It's galling we missed them for a long time. We didn't make their keeper work for too long, didn't pick the final pass out.[LNB]"You could see the quality the substitutes brought to the side. The young boys up top are inexperienced and will learn from it. But big players come on and affect us, like they did."[LNB][LNB]
