Dickov: We must be better

Oldham boss Paul Dickov is expecting a marked improvement from his players after they slumped to a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Falkirk on Saturday. Goals from Jack Crompton and Brian McLean sealed the Latics' fate and Dickov was left disappointed with his side's display. Dickov, whose side host Wigan on Tuesday night, said: "We need to be cleverer, show more responsibility in our decision making and to learn when and when not to close down opponents. "That will come and I am aware we are only three weeks into pre-season training. Bearing that in mind, I am happy how it is going, but I want to see things done better." Meanwhile, Dickov is hopeful Sean Gregan, Deane Smalley and Chris Taylor will soon be back in action. Long-term absentees Rob Purdie, Joe Jacobson and Andy Holdsworth are all back in training and edging closer to a return.
