Dickov: We had an off-day

Oldham manager Paul Dickov felt that his side were off their game in the 1-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Shrewsbury. The home side dominated for long spells but they could have few complaints as Shrewsbury hit the woodwork twice before Steve Leslie grabbed the winner. Despite the League One high-flyers falling at the first hurdle, Dickov remained upbeat and lauded his opponents. "We have had a good start in the league but I was never getting carried away so it is not a case of being brought back down to earth," Dickov said. "We were outfought and outplayed by a better team on the night and all credit to Shrewsbury. "We did not look like scoring and there were not enough shots or crosses even though we worked on those things in training and talked about it at half-time."
