Dickov upbeat after draw

Oldham manager Paul Dickov remained philosophical after his side`s recorded a 1-1 draw at Walsall. Filipe Morais had put the Latics in front against the run of play in the first half, but the Saddlers` teenage defender Darryl Westlake equalised with his first goal for the club after half-time. Dickov said: "In the first half we defended too deep and our goalkeeper Ben Amos (on loan from Manchester United) made some good saves, but that's why I brought him in. "Walsall got through us a bit too easy at times in the first half and I'm a bit disappointed with our overall performance, but sometimes you`ve got to take a point." Dickov said he was hoping to bring in new players, including winger Aidan White on loan from Leeds, and added: "It's a hard place to come and they will give a lot of teams a hard time. "We had been a bit anxious on the ball in the first half and at times our decision-making was not as good as it has been. We had a chance to go two-up in the second half, but the Walsall equaliser was a great finish by the lad."
