Dickov primed for managerial role

Oldham boss Paul Dickov is focused on turning his side into a force to be reckoned with after hanging up his boots at the weekend. The former Manchester City and Scotland striker, 38, made a late substitute appearance in Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to MK Dons to bring down the curtain on his playing career. Now he will devote all his time and energies into his managerial duties as the Latics seek to make progress next term. Dickov said: "It was good to get on the pitch but I'm now fully focused on being a manager. "I`ll give it everything I've got again next season and we`ve been making progress but that isn't enough for me because I want us to keep improving and improving."
