" I feel that is the best we have played" Paul Dickov watched Athletic dominate Colchester United in the second half of the match in which substitute Dean Kelly scored what looked to be a perfectly good header which was ruled out for offside.A disappointed Dickov said, “In the first half, I wasn’t happy with the tempo of our game. We are better than that and are fitter than that. We can play at a high tempo for 90 minutes. So that was disappointing and I wasn’t happy at half-time. In the second half, you have to give them credit. They were fantastic. I will have to watch it again, to make sure I am not getting carried away, but at the minute I feel that is the best we have played.” “It was a little bit of a stalemate in the first half. But I am not going to accept that, as I know we are better than that. I told them that at half-time. We are a good team when we are at it — I keep saying it. We weren’t at it in the first half but we were in the second. We would like to have won the game and, in the second half, we deserved to win the game. If we keep performing and doing what we did in the second half throughout the rest of the season we will be okay. Blackie got left out last week and was disappointed. I was disappointed for him, but his attitude is top-class. He has worked his socks off this week. Cedric was on a booking as well. Their number seven Ashley Vincent is a good player and Blackie came on and was fantastic.”
