Dickov feels hard done by

Oldham manager Paul Dickov admitted Hartlepool deserved their win but were lucky to be warded a penalty after Jean Yves Mvoto was adjudged to have handled. Neil Austin converted the spot kick in the 27th minute to cancel out Dale Stephens' opener for Oldham and took the lead after 44 minutes through Peter Hartley. Pools added further goals through Ritchie Humphreys and Antony Sweeney before Mvoto headed a consolation second for the Latics. Dickov said: "We were bright, lively, on top and scored a good goal to take the lead - we were on top and it was pleasing. "But fair play and credit to Hartlepool. They're on a great run and flying. Mick (Wadsworth) has done a good job here. But we kept going to the end, kept creating chances, and that's all I can ask. "For the penalty, the ball bounced up and hit him, his hands were by his side. The referee said Jean lifted his hand - wrong. I asked what the interpretation was, but it wasn't handball. It changed the game, they hadn't threatened at all. But they played ever so well from there on in."
