Oldham boss Paul Dickov is considering returning to action in Monday`s home clash with Tranmere as his side bid to end a dismal 11-match winless streak.
The Latics` play-off hopes are effectively over following a dire run of form which has seen them plummet down the League One table towards the relegation zone.
Player-manager Dickov has not featured since a 10-minute cameo against Bristol Rovers in September but is giving serious thought to putting his boots on again.
"It is something we are considering," said the former Manchester City striker.
"I said we wanted to give the boys a chance and we have given them a chance. So we might have to reconsider it."
