forum a huge success Paul Dickov met supporters for the first time at an official function when he attended a forum at the White Hart, Lydgate last night. On the panel with him were his number two Gerry Taggart and Head of Sports Science Paul Butler. The question and answer session raised several topics. Formation and style of play were covered and Dickov stated that he likes to play a 4-4-2 formation at a high tempo. His prospects for the season were realistic considering the financial restraints that the club will be run under and is looking to bring in fit quality players with a good work ethic to ensure the best possible success for the season. He also wants to get the fans on his side and he wants to return to the days when Boundary Park was a fortress that opposing teams hated to visit. The way he spoke, he certainly convinced the audience that he was capable of doing it. Taggart singled out Chris Taylor and Dale Stephens as 'big players' for the club this season and Dickov wants his side scoring goals as he rightfully said, "Goals win games - it isn't rocket science." He also promised that he would treat all the cup games seriously as it would bring in important revenue to the club as well as reward the supporters for their support. When asked about his own playing career Dickov stated that he wants to play but he would first and foremost be a manager. When questioned about loan signings the new manager said that he would try to bring in the right character who would fit in with how he wants the team to play. It was a reassuring experience for the fans who left the meeting full of confidence about the coming season.
