First visit to Crawley leaves Latics battling against the odds

The Latics were up against it in their first ever visit to Crawley Town last Saturday. Suffering the early loss of Jean-Yves Mvoto for a red card incident they went on to earn a valuable point with a Jose Baxter goal which deflected a Lee Croft free-kick off a defender and over the Crawley goalkeeper. It was all down to determination after being up against the odds when Mvoto's moment of madness saw him lose his cool and push an opposing player in the face right under the nose of the referee. Baxters goal came in the 67th minute just after Crawley lost one of their players through a direct red card. It's a shame that they couldn't hold out as Crawley equalised from a corner when McFadzean caught an unsighted Bouzanis on his near post.
