Lee Croft has signed a contract with the Latics which will keep him at Boundary Park until 30th June after parent-club Derby County cancelled his deal by mutual consent. Croft was already on a season long loan from the Rams but he is now delighted to become a permanent Latics' player. Croft commented, "I am happy to have signed for Latics until the end of the season. When my loan was cancelled due to my contract at Derby being cancelled, it was always my intention to come in today. I have enjoyed my time here and wanted all along to stay with the lads. They are massive for me. I need to be playing well for myself and, if I am doing that, hopefully the team will also be doing well." "We have some massive games coming up in the league and we need to kick on and not find ourselves at the bottom. And looking at the players we have brought in this week, I am sure will soon start to climb the table. There is also the Everton cup tie and there was no way I was going to walk away on the back of the great win against Liverpool."
