Burns delighted with first-team bow
Rookie Oldham midfielder Ryan Burns admitted he was delighted to make his first-team debut during Saturday's 2-0 win at Swindon.
The 18-year-old first-year trainee had been named on the bench for the games at Accrington and Dagenham earlier in the season and was finally handed his chance.
Burns said: "My main priority was establishing a place in the youth team and then break into the reserves in my second year.
"Never for one moment did I think I would be playing for the first team in my first season at the club and I am ahead of where I thought I would be."
