Plum tie drawn in League Cup

The Latics have drawn Sheffield Wednesday at home in the first round of the League Cup. It is a plum tie for the Latics as the game will be televised and should give them a bumper pay day of somewhere in the region of £100,000. The match will take place in the week beginning 13th August. It gives an early return to Boundary Park for Kieran Lee who has recently joined the Owls.Other interesting ties lay ahead for recently promoted to the League Fleetwood Town, who will entertain Nottingham Forest. Neighbours Rochdale are at home to Barnsley which means the return of ex-manager Keith Hill to Spotland while Bury also have an attractive tie at home to Middlesbrough. Accrington travel to Carlisle and Blackpool have a derby game against Morecambe.
