Boss blasts 'unacceptable' Latics

A defensive howler gifted Clive Platt the only goal and Sheridan branded Oldham's lame attempt at a fightback as "totally unacceptable". The Latics kicked off in fourth place but have now taken just one point from their last three games at Boundary Park. Colchester could have won by a wider margin and Sheridan said: "Our performance in the first half was shocking. It was the worst since I took over and I won't accept it. I apologise to the fans and I have no problem with them booing. "We had one or two opportunities in the second half but we let ourselves down and it has happened too many times this season. "It's totally unacceptable and we need to sort things out because we have an extremely tough game at MK Dons next week."
