Black awaiting operation judgement

Oldham defender Paul Black will see a specialist to decide whether he is required to undergo surgery. The left-back was clearly in discomfort as he was substituted midway through the second half of Monday`s goalless draw at home to Tranmere with an abdominal problem. Latics boss Paul Dickov later revealed Black has been troubled by the complaint for the last couple of weeks. And Black said: "I have managed the problem and had been hoping to get through to the end of the season and have it seen to then. "It has become too much so it looks as though I will have to have it done now. "It is only a minor operation and hopefully I will be back for the last three or four games as the recovery time is between 10 days and three weeks."
