Another postponed game
Colchester clash off! Athletic have yet again fallen foul of the weather as their League One match at Colchester tomorrow has been called off. It's getting to sound like a broken record now as they have lost all of their last five league games. The last time the team saw action was on 27th. November when they played at Rochdale as the matches against Walsall, Swindon, MK Dons, Carlisle and now Colchester have all been postponed.Local referee Mike Bull was called in to to make a decision to prevent the Latics from having to travel. There were concerns that the pitch was still partially covered with snow and as the frost had penetrated the covers, the surface beneath was frozen. With heavy snow falls predicted for the area there were also worries about state of the frozen the approaches to the ground.
