Nuneaton Borough boss Steve Burr fears that the financial cut-backs being made at Manor Park will affect the long-term prospects of the club.
Burr has been forced to release a number of players during the season and Boro are now uncomfortably close to the relegation places, with six points the gap to Leigh RMI.
And Burr is worried that the damage may be tough to repair as he told BBC Sport Online: "I have been saying for the past two months or more that if you keep chipping away at the bricks, the house will fall down.
"I'm not one for making excuses, but we've cut back three times now and you can't keep doing that.
"We will battle on and try to get as much as we can out of the players to make sure we're not in any problems, but it's not getting any easier."
